Dickwella, Hummanaya, Sri Lanka
So Hummanaya is the place to see a natural sea blowhole in Sri Lanka. From what I have heard growing up, this is the only such place in Sri Lanka. Considering the interest of foreign tourists to visit this place, I think there may not be that many in the world. We began our day trip to Hummanaya from Matara, It was a leisure day trip and first we headed to Dickwella Village for drinks, beach, pool and lunch. Dickwella is a small, very small town further south about 12 miles from Matara, It's a great scenic drive along the coast line. Dickwella Village is a nice resort type hotel. It has been there at that location for a very long time. I remember when it's was a big deal when it was built at that location because there was a dispute with local fishermen for beach access rights. That was at least 30 years ago.
