Fruits in Sri Lanka

I guess there's a reasons why people don't die of hunger in Sri Lanka. There are edible fruits in almost everyone's backyard, by the roads, and in little hamlets. There are piles and piles of fruit sold  roadside and  you can always ask to taste and negotiate the price. One thing that occurs to me is how much of these harvests go to waste. The lack if infrastructure to educate and provide necessary technology to people to convert these to cash crops is still an issue I believe. It's great if one day Sri Lanka can export products made with these natural produce the way Philippines, Chinese, etc. are doing with crops like Tamarind, Durian, Jack Fruit.
