Tian Tan Buddha at Po Lin Monastery and Tai O Village in Lantau Island We took the MTR from the Central Station to Tung Chung Station using our Octopus passes acquired within the first few hours of landing in Hong Kong. Ngong Ping Cable Car Station is walking distance from Tung Chung Station. There is a outlet mall here. We bought the return on the Ngong Ping 360 because the teenagers indicated they wanted to spend sometime there. The crystal bottom option is worth the money and views of South China Sea, all the greenery around, and Hong Kong International Airport are amazing to prove there is a whole different side to Hong Kong than vastly talked about. Get there early for best views and shorter lines.
